Playing the course
To score well on this course you are required to be on top of your game as the course is long as well as challenging. Water is a prominent feature at the Fish River Sun Golf Course and comes into play on many of the holes. In the duration of your golfing round you will have to cross a river twice by raft in order to access your ball. The fairways along the course are naturally bordered with thick coastal vegetation as well as high rolling dunes. The 12th par-five stroke 1 which is played along the river is considered a signature hole. On this hole a dogleg left which hugs the river and plays toward and uphill green comes into play.
An important aspect when it comes to enjoying any round of golf is that the golf course should be in pristine condition. At the Fish River Golf Course the maintenance and care of the course is top priority and none of the natural features are compromised. Gary Player took great care especially with the preservation of the Euphorbia trees which are found on several of the holes. This golf course is ideal for any golfer looking for a seaside ramble.
