Situated on the banks of the Liesbeek River are the historical buildings of The River Club which was established in 1939 as a railway sports club but is known todays as Cape Town's leading Golf and conference venue. The River Club is home to Western Cape's leading golf driving range which allows you to practice your golfing techniques no matter what the weather is like. There are 28 undercover bays and grass bays are available at all times as there are state of the art mats with very realistic artificial grass surfaces. To allow golfers at The River Club golfing range to practice all aspects of their golf there are two putting greens, a chipping area and bunkers.

The River Club has an existing nine hole par 3, as well as a state of the art nine hole par 3 under construction and will be more challenging than the existing par 3 course. The River Club also has a new innovative way of playing golf which is generally good for team building exercises; namely night golf. Night golf is a revolutionary way to enjoy this time old tradition. This game is played at night and uses visual aids such as luminous pins, balls and green markers.

The Logical golf academy is situated on the driving range of The River Club and has four top golf instructors that offer video analysis coaching on all levels. The motto of the academy is “ Without logic, golf instruction is merely words”. Logical golf's unique visual style teaching approach makes the complex art of swinging a golf club easy to understand. The instructional DVDs, the Long game and the Short game are memorable and exciting to watch with the professional golfers that instruct on the DVD and guest appearances.

The Golfers Club at The River Club is specifically there to assist you with custom fitted clubs as each person's swing is unique therefore each person requires tailor made clubs. A specialist will analysis your swing, the ball's flight and the knowledge of the golf swing and club's geometry will be incorporated to tailor make your clubs. Popular brands such as Ping, Callaway, Titleist and Mizuno available. The Golf Pro shop at The River Club is small but offers guests of the club all the essential golfing equipment that they might need.
